Hiking Hound Adventures Programs 2026
Hiking Hound Adventures offers hands-on outdoor education, family programs, and skill-building experiences designed to connect people with nature in a safe, fun, and engaging way. Programs range from beginner camping and fishing to navigation, hiking, and wilderness skills.
All programs are led by experienced outdoor instructors.

Program Schedule
Introduction to Camping
First steps toward overnight outdoor adventure. This one-hour hands-on session helps new campers learn about gear, campsite planning, safety considerations, and simple Leave No Trace practices.
Price: $18 per participant
Duration: 1 hour

Kids Introduction to Fishing
A relaxed, beginner-friendly fishing class for kids ages 6 to 15. All equipment is provided. Participants learn how to cast, identify fish, tie basic knots, and practice catch and release with proper fish handling.
Price: $25 per child

Little Tykes Go on Hikes
Family-friendly themed hikes designed for children ages 3 to 12. Each one-hour hike includes nature exploration, environmental awareness, and hands-on activities. Themes may include creek exploration, geocaching, nature bingo, treasure hunts, scavenger hunts, storybook hikes, and painting with nature.
Price: $13 per child (adults attend free)

Practical Bushcraft
A three-hour wilderness skills workshop for ages 16 and older. Participants learn fire craft, natural tinder sourcing, outdoor cooking, shelter building, knife and tool safety, and self-reliance skills for the outdoors.
Price: $50 per person

Treats on the Trail
A one-hour themed hike that includes a seasonal treat such as ice cream, water ice, s’mores, hot chocolate, or a costume hike. Fees apply only to participants receiving a treat. Adults may attend at no cost if not receiving a treat.

Wilderness Navigation: Learning Map and Compass
A 90-minute introduction to topographic maps and compass use. Includes 30 minutes of classroom instruction followed by 60 minutes of hands-on navigation practice in the field.
