A reminder from Rose Tree Fire Company No. 1:
If your home is close to a fire hydrant and you’re able, please shovel a clear path and area at least 3 feet in all directions around it after snowfall.
Clear away zone:
- Remove any snow and ice
- Clear a wide enough perimeter around the hydrant for firefighters to work, about 3 feet.
- Clear a path from the hydrant to the street
