Vince Roche Promoted to Roadmaster
Vinnie began working for Upper Providence in 2001 as a laborer, one of four employees in Public Works. He recently was promoted to Roadmaster, leading the department and supervising six employees. Public Works maintains roads, storm sewers, signs, parks, open spaces, township buildings, and handles snow plowing and storm cleanup. Before joining Upper Providence, Vinnie was a truck driver for the Philadelphia Inquirer.
As head of Public Works, Vinnie is often the “face” of the township as he frequently interacts with residents who have questions or concerns. Vinnie said he enjoys interacting with residents, especially when he is able to help them with a problem. For instance, Vinnie assists motorists who get stuck in the snow by shoveling them out.
Vinnie and his wife Flossie have been married for 37 years and live in Essington. They have two grown children. In his free time, Vinnie enjoys playing poker, watching and attending sporting events and likes to spend time at the Jersey shore in the summer. Vinnie also likes hiking with his dog Sadie. Vinnie always has a smile on his face and enjoys his job!
