Meet Rasheen Davis Merritt, Councilwoman from District 2. Rasheen is committed to the balanced growth and sustainability of our vibrant community. She uses her professional expertise and skills as a lawyer to assist the Council in ensuring sustainability and improving the quality of life for our residents. Rasheen believes that everyone’s voice is important and is dedicated to fostering open dialogue and communication. She welcomes feedback and questions from residents.
She and her husband have lived in Upper Providence for eight years with their two children. In addition to being a wife, mother, and volunteer, Rasheen is a lawyer and an executive at one of the area’s largest hospitals. She earned her Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Risk Management and Actuarial Science from Temple University. In 2002, Rasheen graduated from Temple University's Beasley School of Law evening division. While in law school, she worked full-time as an underwriter. After law school, she spent 15 years at a law firm practicing as a litigator, eventually becoming a partner before transitioning to her current role as in-house counsel at a major hospital.
Rasheen is committed to bringing her ideas to the Upper Providence Township Council while fostering community camaraderie.
