On Tuesday, December 19, we had a productive meeting with AJ Blosenski, the township’s trash company, to stay informed on the latest updates and address pertinent issues. The session provided valuable insights and fostered open discussions for continued efficiency in waste management services.
We highlighted recurring issues at certain addresses and supplied documentation to AJB, requesting appropriate credits, which they agreed and committed to fulfill. We also clarified that trucks shouldn’t be on the road before 7 a.m. and when possible, drivers shouldn’t be combining trash with recycling. However, according to AJB, a lot of the “combined streams” complaints stem from residents not being educated on what is recyclable. AJB is unable to accept any improper recycling as it cannot be processed at recycling facilities.
On a positive note, AJB representatives announced that 2024 will see the implementation of new routing and driver software (with cameras, and GPS data). This will make a huge difference in alerting drivers of road closures, missed stops, and special pickups. In addition, AJB now has an app that can be downloaded through Google Play and Apple App Store (simply search for AJ Blosenski). This app announces a list of upcoming pickups, and any delays, has a special pickup request, and a module to contact AJB management.
Two Reminders from AJ BLosenski
1. DO NOT put empty pizza boxes in the recycling bin. Pizza boxes can no longer be recycled regardless of how clean they are.

2. DO NOT put your leaves into plastic bags. Leaves can only be accepted when collected in an approved biodegradable, compostable bag, or approved 55-gallon container.
