Holiday Greeting from Council Chair, Elgin Akarsoy

Document (69)

Greetings, Upper Providence Township Neighbors,

As we enjoy the 2023 Holiday season and reflect upon the past year's accomplishments, I express heartfelt thanks to the Upper Providence Township Community for a year marked by achievements. This includes securing various grants for new police department software and vehicles, alongside enhancements to parks and infrastructure.

While our 2nd Annual Community Day was unfortunately rained out, the silver lining emerged in the form of strengthened partnerships with the entire community, including local businesses, nonprofits, our fire department, and the library. We received tremendous engagement and support from our residents, and we are confident that next year's event will be a smashing success!

I'd like to express gratitude to everyone who has volunteered in any capacity to contribute to our community, with special thanks to our Board and Committee members, members of the Sustainability Taskforce, the students from our recently established Junior Student Council, and my fellow Council members. Their dedication and countless hours have been instrumental in supporting the township and steering us in the right direction. And speaking of Council, I would like to extend a special thanks to Kevin Else for his four years of service to Upper Providence Township.

On behalf of the entire Council and staff, it has been a privilege to serve you, and we look forward to continued collaboration to ensure that Upper Providence Township remains welcoming, safe, and increasingly sustainable.

I wish you and your families a happy and healthy New Year.
