The Upper Providence Township Police Department is announcing the forthcoming deployment of body cameras, starting this Monday, October 2, 2023. The adoption of body cameras is a significant step forward in enhancing transparency, accountability, and trust within the Upper Providence Township community. In preparation for this milestone, Upper Providence Township’s dedicated police officers underwent comprehensive training on the proper use and maintenance of these cameras. The purchase and implementation of the new equipment were made possible through the allocation of grant funds totaling $178,000 generously provided by the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency (PCCD).
