A brand-new playground in Rose Tree Park opened with a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony on Thursday, July 20. Members of Delaware County and surrounding communities, including Upper Providence Township, participated and watched the Grand Opening. “This has been a long time in the making,” Delaware County Council Vice Chair Elaine Paul Schaefer said, adding that it started with former councilman Brian Zidek, who saw the value it would bring. “These spaces like this all over Delaware County, they vastly improve our quality of life, and they make our communities desirable,” Schaefer said. “They make us feel a part of our community.”
Upper Providence Township is excited to have this wonderful space located in its township. And soon, yet another park in the Township – Ray Roche Park - will undergo a big makeover thanks to $424,000 in grant funding through the Commonwealth Department of Community and Economic Development’s (DCED). Stay tuned for information about an upcoming Open House that will provide more information about Ray Roche Park’s improvements to the residents.
