For 26 years, dedicated volunteers from the Chester, Ridley, and Crum Creek Watersheds Association have celebrated the warmer weather by hosting one of the largest coordinated environmental litter removal events in the region. On Saturday, March 26th, over 1,000 community leaders removed significant accumulated garbage at over 35 watershed locations in Delaware and Chester Counties.
Dozens of Upper Providence residents, township staff, and members of Council joined in this effort to remove trash and debris from local community watersheds. This annual effort not only improves the overall aesthetics of our parks and open space, but the tons of plastic, styrofoam, and other garbage removed from our fragile watersheds improves environmental conditions and protects wildlife.
